During the Christmas season, budgeting is very important. Over the next few weeks, we are going to discuss different aspects of budgeting for the holiday season.
Stress
This part may not seem more obvious as some of my other posts, but set “stress budget” for the holiday season. At the end of the day, I’m only opening myself up to take on this much stress and then I’m done. Have you ever left a holiday event in the middle of it because you’ve just had it? No? Only me. Well, I’ll be the first to say that my “ENOUGH” monitor has a fill line. For many years, I ignored how others made me feel for the sake of having everyone together for the holidays. Not any longer! I refuse to be where I’m not wanted.
Here are a few of my favorite tips:
- Know where your “enough” line is.
- Prioritize peace over obligation.
- Don’t be afraid to set new traditions.
- Pick your battles.
- Limit expectations on yourself and others.
- Don’t forget to ask for help.
